EIM helps Fox Rothschild Fulfill a Strategic Vision
Fox Rothschild had a vision. Starting out, the firm performed an analysis of its matter lifecycle with the goal of being able to better organize and manage its matter information more effectively. One important aspect of meeting its goal was developing a standardized taxonomy that would span both electronic and physical matter work product. Through careful review, a practice-based, firm-wide classification standard was created for all data – electronic or physical.
Could a system reflect the standard file folder inserts that are created at matter opening – whether physical or electronic? And could the same values be extended to the firm's critical matter life cycle systems?
Using Open Text Document Management, eDOCS Edition (“eDOCS DM”), the firm was able to apply this same taxonomy to all electronic work in progress files, providing an easy way to correctly categorize and retrieve work in progress.
